Water Ski and Wakeboard are both known and understood by nearly anybody. Some estimate that there are over 30 million active participants in the World! The International Water Ski Federation (IWSF) was founded in 1946 and today comprises over 90 national Federations covering all Continents.

xcampbell new.jpgThe Water Ski & Wakeboard World Cup was established by the IWSF in 2004 with a simple objective – bring the very best athletes in the World to major downtown locations and places of unique tourist interest. This exposes the sport to large audiences, Sponsors, TV Networks and the Media generally. It also puts the international spotlight on each of the Host cites, providing an opportunity for a global audience to see it’s attractions. This in turn delivers a natural boost to local tourism programmes.

xWatkins Doha.jpgNo more than 10 World Cup Stops are planned each year – comprising 5 Water Ski and 5 Wakeboard events. Only the World’s Top Athletes in the different disciplines, Slalom, Jump, Shortboard and Wakeboard can participate.

The World Cup is not just a competition but a weekend full of excitement and activity. Attractions which can be added include an amazing show by the Stars of Florida, learn to ski and ride programmes for kids or Barefoot jumping.
